MORE IS CAUGHT THAN TAUGHT

What are you teaching your children? How to read and write? How to throw and catch a ball? Hunting? Fishing? Cleaning? Cooking? Are you teaching them about God? Yes? That's great!

Now, what are your children learning from you? Are they learning how to treat others? How to talk? How to pray? What are they learning from you about compassion, responsibility, loyalty, faith, honesty, respect, honor, integrity, self-discipline, gentleness, kindness, and perseverance? Are they learning right from wrong?

What you teach them and what they learn from you could be two different things. As the saying goes; Actions speak louder than words. Remember, they are learning more from our actions than anywhere else. So practice what you preach.

A careful man I want to be,
A little fellow follows me;
I do not dare to go astray,
For fear he'll go the self-same way.

I cannot once escape his eyes,
Whatever I do he tries.
Like me he says he's going to be,
That little chap who follows me.

I must remember as I go,
Through summer suns and winter snows,
I'm building for years to be-
That little chap who follows me.
